Marisela Arredondo
About
Marisela was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and from a young age knew she wanted to be an attorney. Working towards her dream, Ms. Arredondo attended Texas State University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science. During her time at Texas State, she realized her love for central Texas and vowed to return once a licensed attorney. Prior to law school, Ms. Arredondo started working in a criminal defense firm as a full time paralegal. It was at this time that her love for criminal defense would be solidified. As a paralegal, Marisela would assist good, hard-working, people that found themselves in a tough spot. This experience lit a fire in Ms. Arredondo to start the final steps to becoming an attorney. Marisela was accepted and graduated from South Texas College of Law – Houston. During her time in law school, Marisela continued to help the Harris County community. She partook in the Estate Planning Clinic at South Texas helping clients with modest estate planning needs, such as the preparation of wills and other documents for execution.
Outside of school, Marisela started working with a boutique immigration firm. Marisela is the proud daughter of an immigrant father and wanted to be a helping hand in the immigrant community. Upon graduation, Ms. Arredondo took her talents to a personal injury firm helping her injured clients fight against pharmaceutical companies that were releasing defective products on the market and failing to warn its patients of the dangerous side effects associated with their medications. However, her love for criminal defense never went away. Ms. Arredondo left her paying position and started shadowing a Board Certified criminal defense attorney in Houston. All she wanted to do was learn how to advocate and assist clients that found themselves having to navigate the criminal justice system. Marisela had one more thing to accomplish – practicing criminal defense in central Texas. In July 2018, Ms. Arredondo relocated to Austin, Texas and began her work at Peek and Toland. Marisela currently handles cases ranging from first-degree felonies to misdemeanor charges all over central Texas counties. Marisela also represents clients on the federal level.
